About the artist: I am a nurse who has become a beader. Until recently, Health Care in the U.S. focused on the ailing persons’ diagnosis and the related treatments or procedures failing to acknowledge the whole person beyond the diagnosis. Currently, western medicine is starting to acknowledge alternative health care therapies and complimentary healing practices that have been followed by “eastern medicine clinicians” and the “medicine men/women” of the Native North Americans for many years. These alternative therapies appreciate the living being in a state of wholeness in which body, mind, and spirit are integrated and balanced and connected with the earth and universe. These connections have been found to be enhanced with stones, minerals and natural substances which are therapeutic (releasing energy blockages) and aid with the connection to ourselves, our mother earth and the universe to create an optimum potential for healing. I compose my products with these concepts in mind. Personal items can be crafted upon request. Contact me with requests of specific materials and dement ions.
