Sandollar, Starfish & Seaglass, Beach Gem Necklace
Jan 18 2012
There is something special we all feel when we discover nature's gems washed up on the shore. Often times it looks like a palate that you want to keep in place forever. This piece is reminiscent of just that moment -- a snapshot of treasures lying at ones feet, but in your reality is forever yours to wear as you go about your day. I used a brass sand dollar as the backdrop for a lovely seaglass softened by the LI Sound. A pewter starfish lays opposite; and for that sparkle of sea & sky I centered an aurora borealis cube Swarovski crystal in aqua. Each piece was meant to fall as charms, but I preferred to keep each separate & in its place of permanence by casually connecting them via silver artisan wire to the sand dollar. Now they are yours to share with everyone who walks into your path, shoreline or other!
